Body Surgery

There are some people who feel that the face is not the only physical aspect that requires enhancement. For them, having a pretty face is not the only thing that makes people attractive.

The shape of a person’s body is considered by some as a major beauty factor. Since not everyone is born with the right shapes at the right places, body surgery came into existence for the purpose of providing people the chance to have the desired contours.

Body surgery involves numerous techniques to reshape practically all areas of the human body. Through any of these techniques, people can get rid of excess skin and fat which have not been eliminated by exercise and diet. The different methods of body sculpting surgery include: liposuction, tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, body lift, and body implant.

Liposuction remains to be the most well-known type of body surgery available today. In this particular technique, the surgeon creates tiny incisions where fat deposits and fat cells are targeted and removed permanent from the specified areas. There are various liposuction methods being offered today. However, the choice should be carefully discussed between the patient and the surgeon.

Abdominoplasty, or more commonly referred to as tummy tuck, is a body contouring surgery method designed to allow patients to have well-sculpted and toned abdominal areas. The abdominoplasty procedure involves the tightening of the abdominal muscle walls, and suturing them in place. The surgeon eliminates excess skin in the area so that the patient can obtain a flatter and firmer midsection. This technique may be done according to the specific goals of the patient, and may also be performed along with liposuction or any other body surgery procedures.

The body lift surgery is mostly chosen by people who have sagging skin problems which are often brought about by significant loss of weight. The skin usually loses its elasticity which restricts it from conforming to the body’s new shape or figure. Hanging or sagging skin may be removed by letting the patients undergo any of the body lift procedures. The choice of the type of body lift depends on the specific needs and aesthetic aims of the patient. The efficiency of the procedure can be influenced by the area where the sag is. Patients may opt to have a full-body lift or area-specific lift like thigh, buttock, or arm lifts. Those who have sagging skin in several areas of the body may be better off with the larger scale full-body lift. Although this type is a rather complicated type of body surgery and requires longer recovery period, it still offers the best results.

Body implants are used in the different body surgery procedures to provide volume and shape to certain areas which are not proportionate with the rest of the patient’s body. While exercise is still considered as the best means to achieve a well-toned body figure, there are people who are never able to achieve this at all. Areas of the body that may not respond well to exercise may require body implants to obtain a better-looking figure.

The ripples, stretch marks, dimples, and other dents seen on the patient’s skin prior body surgery are not likely to go away after the procedure. Patients should expect that their new contours are basically like what they would expect if they had lost the fat through exercise and diet.

The shape of a person’s body can make him feel and look good, or totally otherwise. Since aesthetics can affect confidence level and self esteem, the various methods of modifying different areas of the body have become highly popular. After all, we all want to look and feel good, right?
