Butt Lift
Generally, people desire to undergo butt lift for the same reasons that others go through the different types of cosmetic surgery -- to balance and improve the appearance and contours of their bodies.
The buttock lift, or butt lift for short, is a fairly new cosmetic surgery option. It can be done as an individual procedure or as an element of a full or total body lift. The butt lift is done in order to enhance the appearance of the buttocks.
There are two ways to perform butt lift. The first one involves the removal of excess skin on the buttocks, causing the skin on the upper portion to tighten, thus lifting the buttocks. The other method requires the use of implants or fat injections. The fat injection method is more commonly known as the Brazilian butt lift.
Choosing the best butt lift method needs careful considerations and thorough discussion with the surgeon. The recommendations given by the doctor are also based on certain factors. For example, buttocks which are very big may require the patient to undergo liposuction instead, in order to reduce the size of his buttocks. In case the patient wants to have larger buttocks that have more projection, fat injection or butt implant may give him the desired results. Implants and fat injections work to fill the butt, lifting them in the process.
Those who choose to have a butt lift have varied reasons. Typically though, most of these people simple want to have a fuller, and a better-looking back side. Some of them may have lost their shapely figures due to aging or after a considerable amount of weight. Most often, butt lifts are done only after patients have tried several exercises to firm and lift the butt, but failed to achieve positive results.
Prior surgery, the patient goes to the surgeon for consultation. The surgeon should be able to evaluate the patient’s condition, and associate his evaluation with the desired results. The patient should be made aware if there are certain factors present which may affect or hinder him from obtaining the right outcome. Also, it is important that the patient is aware of the likelihood of complications. Although these should be uncommon or minimal when butt lift is done by a highly competent doctor, there is still the chance that minor complications can occur. The patient is also expected to tell the surgeon if he is into alcoholic drinks or cigarette smoking, as these habits can directly affect the recovery period, as well as the rate of healing.
For people whose buttocks are hanging or sagging, and do not wish to have an augmentation, they can opt to have a butt lift instead. Since sagging is caused by the presence of excess tissue, the surgery will remove this and tighten the remaining skin. Sags which are minimal are less complicated to perform, and are less likely to cause scarring since the excess tissue is removed at the crease of the buttocks.
Butt lift is normally done as an outpatient cosmetic procedure, and utilizes either of the two anesthetic options: general or local. Both methods may be performed to complement each other.
Patients who have undergone butt lifts are typically advised to refrain from sitting down for at least a week to prevent putting stress on the butt area. Those who are working may be able to work as long as their work does not require much sitting.
Butt lift has earned more press releases than some of the other techniques of cosmetic surgery. This only goes to show that a person’s behind is a huge part of his overall appearance too.
