Pectoral Implants
In today’s modern world where visual appearance becomes more and more important, nobody wants to see some body flaws. Body imperfections prevent people from gaining that positive feeling that stars in show business and management are now boasting. Many even experienced teasing and all sorts of bullies just because of the imperfect fit and appearance they possess. With more and more men realizing this nightmare, many are turning to medical cosmetic procedures to solve bodily problems. Of the procedures ever developed, the pectoral implants are deemed one of the most well-known.
While pectoral implants for woman has been applied, noted and reviewed for quite some time already, more and more experts on the medical field are now turning to pectoral implants for men knowing that more men now wants to enhance the appearance of their chest. This fact is what leads to the establishment of a myriad of medical centers, clinics and offices offering the surgery, which is done often in sessions, depending on the correction made. It is important to not though that while the male pectoral implants are proven to increase the size of the male breast, it is not yet scientifically supported to increase the muscle tone on the chest. It is not capable of transforming you into a muscle man as don’t define your muscles perfectly. The real thing about this surgery is that it works to only add bulk to your chest.
Now, how the pectoral implants are performed?
Just like the rest of the medical and cosmetic surgeries, pectoral implants are performed in several steps. Before the procedure, the cosmetic surgeon will introduce you to the different types and shapes of the implants available for you to choose from. The one that fits to the size and shapes of your breast and muscles will be taken for the implantation. Once the right implant is distinguished from the rest of the available types, a small incision will then be created right in the patient’s armpit. The implant will be inserted into it through a method known as endoscopic surgery.
The endoscopic surgery is taken through the use of a thin tube with tiny cameras attached at the end. The camera is what works to guide the cosmetic surgeon through the rest of the implantation process. It is also this technology which eliminates bleeding and promoted reduction of the incision created. For some instances, the non-endoscopic techniques are preferred.
It is interesting to know that during the pectoral implant surgery, the implants are inserted into your chest just beneath the pec muscle. Once placed in the right position and curvature, the incision is then sutured, then completing the procedure. The thing that keeps the implants in place for the rest of your life is either the underlying muscle on your chest or the sutures that is placed noticeable through your skin right after the operation.
The pec surgery may last for about one to two hours. It is done under a general anesthesia, but there are some instances when the endoscopic process is involved that the operation may take longer to complete. In terms of recovery period, you will need to stay careful for as long as one month and a half.
The great thing, perhaps, about the pectoral implants is that they are designed to last for a lifetime. The result of the surgery, however, will vary from person to person. Thus, it is necessary for every person thinking of considering the operation to consult a cosmetic surgeon adept with the method to determine exactly the requirements that the patient needs to meet throughout the treatment. This, definitely, is the most important step that patients of pectoral implantations need to take prior to the operation.
